Re: Races of Raven's End
I have an Idea:
Werewolves are a menace to evryone, mainly because they steal cows, sheep, pigs, you know, farm animals.

Re: Races of Raven's End
well, i think that a werecow would be kinda...wierd, how scary is that, a guy turning into a cow when the moon is full, haha, i cant stop laughing HAHA. well, what i was thinknig by some variation was maybe a werewolf, true to its name, but not to its legend, meaning it turns into a wolf and goes crazy, but has separate distinguishing attributes from the popular view of "werewolves." something unique and creative to add or change about a werewolf...any ideas

Re: Races of Raven's End
I'm not sure. Maybe if the person had a strong enough will power they could control what they did when they turned into one, of course, it would take years of training. Or maybe while they're not werewolfish things they have deep connections with canines. Maybe a werecat of werelion. Or a weretiger. Cool.

Re: Races of Raven's End
well, lets think about what this separate world offers those with imagination that differs from the world that we live in. in Raven's End world, there is magic, there is lots of intelligent species that arent man, history is much different, and races battle. werewolves, possibly magically fusiond creatures, created by the mages, or possibly by humans experimenting with magical energy to fight a war against the other side, but are immortal, or maybe can only be killed a certain way, like, by unicorn blood or something (HP ), have somewhat of human thoughts, and are sad, trapped and dangerous. we can have a good side scene to take advantage of that, how we may find a dieing werewolf, that tries to attack us, but is too weak, and we help it, despite some certain members dismay "it would eat us if it had the chance, llets just kill it now" and we realize how the human side of them still writhes within, only to have it die at our feet by another human or something. shows the horrors of wars, and the horrors of the human mind

Re: Races of Raven's End
Yes, and that's why the non-isolationist elves have declared war against them
(NOte: The klingon empire declared war against the Tribbles, and managed to obliterate the tribble homeworld)

Re: Races of Raven's End
ah, well, ive never seen it so...
so here is my complete idea for werewolves, or just "were" creatures
there are 2 different perspectives, the humans creating them and the mages creating them
during the ancient and legendary Human/Mage war, humans were having a hard time competing with the mages sure power in the world, the ability to cast flames and control tides, to summon creatures that can, if not controlled correctly, can annihilate the entire planet. in their losses, they found something else of a controlling power that can help fight the forces of magic, and that is the concept of science. creating weapons, finding ways to enhance their own magical abilities using their knowledge of how the world is put together, and also, using a mixture of science and magic to create powerful beings, capable of thought equal to humans and power and a thirst for blood, these creatures could be sent out in large numbers and be the front line attack to push the mages back, to get the humans close enough to fight with their short range weapons. These creatures were created from using magic and science to fuse animals together with man. It was successful, as the men kept most of their human thoughts, others protruded into their consciousness, the instinct that both animals and humans share, as a result of this mixture, was intensified, and these creatures were wild killers, would even kill their own men, but at the same time, kept most of their human thought. No longer did they have the ability to speak, or read, or do the simplest human concepts, they can understood basic language, but the part of the mind they retained mostly was the ability to think abstractly, wich is precisley why these creatures are so confused, as a war is going on in their minds, a war between instinct and conscious thought, and its because of that that they go crazy, and lash out at everything and everyone that comes near it.
if mages created the were creatures, then they are practically the same thing, except there is no science involved, maybe the mages used some kind of spell to morph the humans in battle to the animals,a nd therefore make them confused and attack there own men. but i do want were creatures to be immortal, besides some certain things of course, i mean, if an atom bomb was dropped on one, i doubt it would survive, but they are impervious to magic and have hard skin, and very fast ande have the ability to think in battle, even if its slightly. maybe they became immortal because of the fact that its magic that is holding them together, maybe the only way to kill them is to put a counter spell on to break the apart, but they cannot live when they are separated...or something
