The Red Mages, here was my suggestion.

2 Red Mages -

Gary (at first is the main focus of the plot, but dies at the twist in the middle, and is only the mask to hide the bigger problem


Gizem- a mage who lives underground and runs a shady group of assassins who all are his apprentices, he is said to be all powerful, but never comes out of his hole, and there is a myth that anyone who sees his face never lives to tell about it [he wears a robe])

Gizem- mahogany?

After Gary's defeat, then Alex leaves.
Then, he teams with Carvili and Farell and kicks the butt of the other Red Mage.

Mahogany, what are the others doing?

They went back with White Mage, and he told them that now the godess seal has been broken, and that they need: 2 black mages, a purple mage, a blue mage, a green mage, a red mage, and a yellow mage.
Since Takuso don't know that he inherited some of Matt's power, he should know that he is another Black Mage, and could have saved the trip to find Alex and convince him to join them back.
